In the Caribbean, it’s summertime all year round. So whether you’re going on vacation when your kids are off from school in the summer or you need to warm up during the winter holidays, the Caribbean has you covered. From scuba diving to trying the local cuisine, you’ll never run out of things to do while on your tropical vacation. Below are just a few ideas on how you can make the most out of your vacation.
Go on a Cruise
Depending on which cruise line you use, a Caribbean cruise will sail around several islands and make a stop at a few as well. Most cruise ships are full of exciting amenities, from pools to dining and sometimes even game rooms. One of the best parts about going on a cruise is that you can choose your environment. You can choose to book a family-friendly cruise or a no-kids-allowed booze cruise.
Once you decide what kind of cruise you want to go on, you can take a look at where the cruise ships will be making stops. Pick the ones that go to your favorite islands or that have the most fun activities to take part in when you dock. With how customizable most cruises are, you are sure to find something that will make your vacation perfect.
Visit a Picture-Perfect Beach
The Caribbean is famous for its white sand beaches. There are so many to pick from, but one of the best has to be Saona Island. This place looks exactly what you would expect a perfect Caribbean beach to look like. The ocean is a clear blue, the sand could be mistaken for snow, and palm trees line up in the background.
Here, visitors can swim in the ocean, scuba, or surf. If watersports aren’t for you, then simply sit back, relax, and work on your tan or build a sand castle. You can spend all day here if you wanted to, or just make it a pit stop between doing other exciting activities.
Splash at a Waterpark
Even though the Caribbean is full of naturally-occurring water sources at its beaches, sometimes you want to do something a little more exciting. One of the most famous waterparks in the Caribbean is Aquaventure. This waterpark is themed to look like ancient Middle American ruins, like the ones found in old Mayan and Incan spots.
This waterpark has everything that you could find at most waterparks in the United States or elsewhere. There are crazy high waterslides, a lazy river, pools, and much more. What makes this park special comes down to the design of the slides… not to mention the aquariums that contain real fish! These are super cool to look at. Some people even think they look like they are in Atlantis.
Travel into the Past
If you’re into history, then consider checking out some historic sites and neighborhoods that still stand proudly on various Caribbean islands. Some of the most famous old cities include Old San Juan and Old Havana.
Both of these towns were founded hundreds of years ago by the Spanish. Today, both of these towns are still occupied; many of the populations that live here today are Spanish descendants. People who love history are sure to appreciate the old architecture. Tourists can also fill their pockets with fun treats and toys. Take a walking tour of the cities to take in all there is to see. It’s a great activity for individuals and families.
The Caribbean is full of wonderful sites and things to do. Going on a cruise is one of the best ways to get to visit more than one Caribbean island in one vacation. From there, you can choose which islands to explore when the ship docks. Even if you do not take a cruise and choose to only go to one or two islands, you are sure to find a beautiful beach to spend your days on.
